Training & Employment
Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP)
Put your time and talents to work! SCSEP places older adults in community service positions that provide them with valuable training and work experience. Through assignments with our local nonprofit and governmental partners, Senior Aides gain confidence, enhance their incomes, learn valuable employment skills and support their communities.
Senior Employment Referral
Alexian Brothers Senior Neighbors offers job referral assistance to seniors. For a $5.00 application fee, we’ll find out who you are, whether you want full-time, part-time, occasional or seasonal work, what skills you have, what hours and days you are available to work and what you would like to do. Then we match your profile with employer needs and make employer referrals.
Remember ability is ageless!

Volunteerism
Our community needs your wisdom and experience! A nationwide volunteer program, Retired Senior and Volunteer Program (RSVP) invites adults age 55 and over to use their life experience and skills to answer the call of their neighbors in need.
Almost 1,000 hours a week…that’s what Alexian Brothers Senior Neighbors RSVP volunteers have donated over the last 12 months to 37 different non-profit groups in the Chattanooga area. And those volunteer hours amount to more than $965,000 of assistance to our community! The time and talents of Alexian Brothers Senior Neighbors RSVP volunteers are critical to the mission of the organizations in which they volunteer and vital to the Chattanooga area.

Leadership Development
Explore how our citizens and leaders work together to make Chattanooga a better place to live. Our Leadership Academy is designed to familiarize participants with the Chattanooga community, to provide opportunities to meet with community leaders who make things happen, and to help you learn how to contribute your insight and expertise to the greater good of the community. You'll want to join us if you are an older adult who has been active in your profession, religious group, community organization or neighborhood.
The Leadership Academy begins with a half-day retreat in September, followed by full-day sessions every month from October through May. Graduation ceremonies occur in May.
