The mist that drifts up from the fish pond. Ancient cedar and walnut trees that line the driveway. One-hundred-year-old pecan trees and pin oaks that form a thick canopy of shade for the plaza area. These are the sights we see everyday at The Health Center at Standifer Place.  And they are constant reminders of our responsibility . . . to cherish this season of life.

As a privately owned not-for-profit organization, we provide more on-campus services than any other long-term care facility of our type in the area. We provide services to each geriatric level, including independent living apartments, assisted living, long term care, skilled nursing care, Alzheimer's care, hospice, respiratory therapy, rehabilitation, and respite care.

Physician Services
Licensed physicians and physician assistants are available to our residents around the clock. Our attending physician is on-site Monday through Friday. Also available on-site are dental, gastroenterology, podiatry, neurology, nephrology, optometry, orthopedic, and psychiatric consultations and a comprehensive rehabilitation department. A respiratory therapist is on site 24/7. Providing these services on-site reduces the number of trips our residents make off-campus, thus minimizing undue stress and discomfort.

Quality Nursing Care
We provide registered nurses on all shifts. In addition, a team approach enhances patient care. Registered nurses, LPNs, and CNAs comprise our nursing team. Nursing works with each department to develop and maintain a care plan for each resident. Patient care is also enhanced by consistently maintaining adequate staff-to-patient ratios, which are significantly higher than the levels set by state requirements.

Rehabilitation Services
We provide a full team of rehabilitation specialists: Rehab/Physical Medicine Specialists, Licensed Physical Therapists, Licensed Physical Therapy Assistants, Certified Occupational Therapists, and Speech and Language Pathologists.

Driving directions:

• From I-75, take Exit # 5
  
• Head east on Shallowford Road (toward Hamilton Place Mall)
  
• Turn left on Gunbarrel Road (the Steak & Shake is on that corner)
  
• Continue straight on Gunbarrel Road approximately one mile (Gunbarrel becomes Standifer Gap Road)
  
• At Woodland Park Baptist Church, turn left onto Walker Road
  
• Turn right into The Health Place at Standifer Place campus, just before the bridge
