Alexian Brothers Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is proud to announce that they are taking part in the Chattanooga-area Extreme Makeover: Home Edition project. Over 50 RSVP senior volunteers are serving at the Alexian Brothers’ sponsored Volunteer Check-In Tent during the week of the project.

Alexian Brothers’ volunteers are honored to be a part of an effort that will change the life of a local family through the creation and gift of a new home. Giving back to the Chattanooga area in this way is reflective of the Alexian Brothers values of Compassion and Partnership.

According to RSVP Director, Jayme Upton, “Alexian Brothers RSVP volunteers serve in non-profits across the Chattanooga area. When presented with the opportunity to serve the Sharrock family through the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition project, they jumped at the chance. No matter the project, we are always amazed at their commitment and dedication.”  

Alexian Brothers RSVP works with over 45 different non-profit agencies in the Chattanooga area. The program places volunteers in jobs that suit them and their personal interests. Volunteer opportunities range from hospital greeters, home-delivered meal drivers and aquarium helpers, just to name a few.

This is the first time the popular ABC TV program, which stars Ty Pennington, is taking place in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area. A California-based production firm will record and produce the show, which will air later in 2011. Vision Homes will be the builder on the project, providing all of their services on a pro-bono basis.

The Emmy award winning reality program “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” now in its 8th season, is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. It’s executive-produced Brady Connell and George Verschoor. David Goldberg is Chairman, Endemol North America. The show airs Sundays from 8:00-9:00 p.m., ET on ABC.
