Hospice of Chattanooga Names New Vice-President of Corporate Compliance
Hospice of Chattanooga is pleased to welcome longtime hospice and palliative care nurse Laurie Newlun back to the organization’s team. Newlun, who worked as a nurse manager and clinical educator for Hospice of Chattanooga from 2005 to 2008, will now serve as the organization’s Vice-President of Corporate Compliance. “Hospice of Chattanooga does such special work,” said Newlun. “I am privileged to be a member of the team once again.” Newlun spent the last three years at Memorial Hospital, working with their service excellence, quality improvement, and palliative care initiatives. She has a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration and a master’s degree in nursing, with more than fifteen years of registered nursing experience and a certification in hospice and palliative care. “I know Laurie will work hard each and every day to see that our staff provides the very best, most comprehensive care for our patients,” added Clark Taylor, Chief Executive Officer for Hospice of Chattanooga. “The position is a good fit for someone with her background and we are thrilled to have her back on the Hospice of Chattanooga team.” Taylor went on to say hospice, like all of healthcare, is an evolving industry and he is confident Newlun will keep the 30-year old organization compliant with changing standards, rules, and regulations. Hospice of Chattanooga was founded in 1981. It is the largest not-for-profit hospice in this region, serving hundreds of patients each day. Each year, Hospice of Chattanooga provides more than half a million dollars in unfunded hospice care to families in 18 East Tennessee and North Georgia counties.
