Alexian Brothers Senior Ministries to Host a Free “Incontinence Solutions” Lunch and Learn at Senior Neighbors
Join Alexian Brothers Senior Ministries for a free Lunch and Learn on incontinence solutions with the Memorial Continence Center. The Lunch and Learn will be held Tuesday, January 19 at 12 p.m. at the Alexian Brothers Senior Neighbors center at 1000 Newby Street (corner of 10th and Houston streets) in downtown Chattanooga. Michelle Webb, Doctor of Physical Therapy at the Memorial Continence Center will share the latest advancements in treating incontinence. Urinary incontinence, or the unintentional loss of urine, is a problem for more than 25 million Americans. It is a common misperception that incontinence is part of the aging process, so fewer than half of those with bladder problems ever talk about the condition with their health care professionals, according to the Agency for Healthcare Quality and Research. Consequently, many people needlessly suffer in silence and don't seek treatment. The good news is that most cases of urinary incontinence can be treated non-surgically with lifestyle or behavioral changes, physical therapy or medication. Dr. Webb’s presentation will detail diagnostic criteria, non-surgical physical therapy options, as well as minimally invasive procedures to maintain freedom, independence and control. Please RSVP for the Alexian Brothers Senior Ministries “Incontinence Solutions” Lunch and Learn by January 12 by calling (423) 755-6100. Alexian Brothers Senior Ministries hosts free Lunch and Learn events at Senior Neighbors on the third Monday and Tuesday of each month.
